About city of Parati:

Discovered by Portugal around 500 hundred years ago, located a few hours by road from São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. Parati is a UNESCO world heritage site. With cobblestone and narrow streets, colonial houses, it had a cityscape of the seventh century. The calm and amazing port is full of traditional schooners remembering the imperialism and pirates time, treasures and slaves. Parati was founded in 1660 and is part of the Brazilian history, as a trading port of gold, diamonds and slaves to Portugal. In 1822, Brazil had declared independent to the motherland Portugal, and Parati lost importance. Actually, artisans, painting, intellectual people, artists, singers, fishermen and visitors make this scene more charms.
